· How do you plan to use your trade show exhibit to meet your objectives? · How large is the trade show in which you plan to participate? Does it attract national, regional or local audiences? · What location type (in-line, corner, end, island) and size of trade show exhibit display space will you reserve? · How will you transport your display to the show? · How much money are you willing to invest in your exhibit?
Exhibit graphics are meant to stop people and to enhance what is being displayed.
The first thing to consider, when designing your trade show display, is to ask yourself what you hope to accomplish by participating in the event. As you begin considering the type, size, design, and configuration of your trade show display, answer these questions:
I hope you still think this is an easy Spanish lesson because there are a couple more thing to consider. We have seen that “la medica” is “the female” doctor, but the gender rule applies if we want to say “A female doctor”, this we could say using “UNA medica”. So if we want to say “A male doctor” we could use “UN medico”. Lastly there is one more thing to consider. When we are looking at a group we need to know how gender affects the words used in a sentence to describe that group. In English we say “the doctors” regardless of the gender of the doctors in that group, but it is not that simple in Spanish. More than one female doctor could be called “las medicas”.More than one male doctor could be called “los medicos”. The complication arises if you have more than one person to talk or write about but the group is made up of men and women, if that is the case you always use the masculine option, so a group of doctors made up of men and women will be “los medicos”, even if there are fifty women and one man!
There are three basic groups of Spanish verbs, in these articles we will look at the regular AR, ER and IR verbs.
Your trade show display decision should be based on your specific trade show objectives, your budget, and your corporate branding goals and guidelines. Whether you decide to have a custom display produced, or adapt a used or rental unit, the type of booth you need, will be based on the nature of the show you are attending and what you want to accomplish.
Verbs That End In AR
The number of images should be kept to a minimum. If several images are required, focus on one or two main images and use the remaining ones for support purposes only.
You only have a very small window of time to attract trade show visitors to your booth and to maximize sales opportunities.
A Spanish word for doctor is medico, medico signifies a male doctor. If you wanted to write about a female doctor you could use the word medica. If you are reading Spanish and come across medica, you know it is referring to a female doctor, medico a male doctor. A word will end in O if its describing a male and an A for a female, easy! Gender affects what words are used before the object of the sentence as well, this will become clearer if we use an example. Medico, means male doctor, to say “the male doctor” we could say “el medico”, to say “the female doctor” we could say “la medica”, so “el” is used to say “the” for a male and “la” is used to say “the” for a female.
The average trade show attendee will spend 7 to 8 hours on the floor over a period of 2 to 3 days visiting an average of 25-31 exhibits. This leaves 5 to 15 minutes per visit. This gives you only 5 to 15 minutes to make a lasting impression that will give you an edge over the competition.
A verb is a word that means everything from an action to an opinion, so laugh, go, like, hate, love, drink, fall, smile, hear, write turn, are all examples of verbs. In English the verb is not changed by who is doing the action. As an example; In these phrases, “I like cheese”, “we like cheese” and “you like cheese”, the verb “like” stays the same. In Spanish the form of the verb is changed by who is doing the doing. It might sound odd now but it will make sense later!
When designing a trade show booth it’s important to realise that your trade show display serves as a direct, powerful reflection of the quality, image, and service of your company and its products.
Do not position any meaningful part of your graphic or language in the lower 1/3 of the booth as this area offers the least amount of visibility and can often be obscured by people, chairs and podiums, etc.
So lets look at the three main verb types in Spanish. They are the verbs that end in the letters ar, er and ir. they can then be subdivided into regular and irregular. As we are just starting we will stick to the regular verbs.
In the Spanish language the group of verbs that end in ar are the most common, so they are a good place to start. If we use the Spanish verb TOMAR, it means a few different things, but in our case it means to drink. To say “I drink wine” in Spanish we would remove the a and r , then to add an o. to give us “tomo vino”. You could add yo ( the Spanish word for I) at the start of the sentence but it would be unnecessary. To say “you drink wine” to a single person, again remove the a and r, and add as, to give “tomar vino”. If we wanted to say that he or she drinks wine, then we remove the ar and add just an a, to give us “toma vino”. This version of tomar would also be used in a formal situation, or if talking to someone for the first time. When learning our basic Spanish verbs and wanting to say “we drink wine” we add amos to give us “tomamos vino”. If we wanted to refer to a group when using “you drink wine”, we would add áis, giving “tomáis vino” “They drink wine” would require the addition of an, so “toman vino” would be the correct phrase.
